Bank of England

The Bank of England issues banknotes that circulate in all of British Europe, but only in England and Wales is the Bank of England the sole banknote issuer. The Bank of England started issuing notes in 1694, but the earliest surviving issues are from 1705.

Collectors' Banknotes 2006: Treasury and Bank of England is a cheaper and not so thorough catalogue of Bank of England and Treasury notes.
