United States Large Size NotesThe large size notes have been issued as a number of types of notes, the type indicating who is the debtor and/or what secures the value of the note:
There is no uniform system of design or use of portraits on these notes, while we recognize some of the portraits from the small size notes, the persons may find themselves on quite other denominations than the ones we are used to associating them with.
Replacement notes - at least this goes for Federal Reserve notes and Federal Reserve Bank notes - are distinguished by a star as suffix in the note number. |
