banknotes] 6th series – portraits and animalsThe first denominations of this series were put into circulation in 1974, more denominations came in 1975. The first 20 kroner notes were put into circulation in 1980, when the 10 kroner notes were withdrawn and replaced by coins. All notes have a portrait painted by Jens Juel (17451802), the 100 kroner note has a self-portrait of Jens Juel, on the front. On the back is a drawing of an animal. The series consists of 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 kroner. Both the 20 kroner and the 1000 kroner were new denominations on Danish banknotes.
